Each applicant advises us of their professional skills and knowledge.  This helps us understand their ability to contribute to the Vivos community. When we obtain a critical mass of members in a certain geographic area, we then review all of those applications and determine the best mix of people for each shelter group. This is also based on their priority of applying to Vivos Ė first come first serve. The objective is to have as much diversity as possible in each Vivos community. We donít want all doctors and no plumbers, or electricians. That could be a real disaster. If we have enough applications to build additional Vivos shelters in the same area, we will repeat the selection process until everyone is accommodated.

A tremendous benefit to shelters of the Vivos scale is the opportunity for a true community of people with diverse skills and abilities, versus the long-term lonely existence of a small family, or group in a private backyard shelter, that may look and feel like a small jail.

The Vivos Risk Management Team evaluates each applicant's profile for determination and candidacy of their membership. Membership in Vivos is free to selected applicants, who will receive ongoing information on Vivos, as well as natural and made-made events. Membership does not provide ownership, or assure of any right of a participating interest in a Vivos shelter.

Once a critical mass of members are pooled in each area, Vivos then evaluates actual member profiles to determine those individuals who may best contribute to each Vivos shelter community, for the greatest chance of long-term survival of the entire group. Each candidate is reviewed based upon a number of criteria and psychographic information, including: their profession, education, expertise, skills, benefit to the Vivos community, proximity to a Vivos location, current health, and desired family or group ownership.  Vivos then selects certain candidates and extends them an invitation to purchase an interest in a specific Vivos shelter closest to their home area. Those candidates are then provided the Vivos package of legal documents, and if mutually agreed to, open escrow, and proceed to purchase their interest in a specific Vivos shelter.
